About Us
1plus is here to encourage and help small and medium-sized businesses across the UK to give to charity

Our members use the 1plus logo to let audiences know they give at least 1% of their profits to charity . This tells their future and potential clients and employees they are a business with a heart

1plus is completely not for profit - we don’t charge any money for companies to use our hallmark logo, (we don't even have a bank account), and we don’t tell them which charities they should support

How it started....
1plus was started by Dr. Leigh Morris in 2025. Leigh was the founder of Bonamy Finch, (now part of the STRAT7 group), who from 2015 committed >1% of their yearly profits to charities chosen by their employees. Leigh wanted more small companies to do the same, and the idea for 1plus was born

How to become a 1plus member
It's easy and free to join 1plus and start using our hallmark logo
​
If your company accountant is a member of one of the five professional bodies recognised by the UK CCAB, then they can sign a standard 1plus "letter of declaration of charitable giving" for the relevant financial year
​
This will cover the large majority of businesses who wish to join, but if you are not one of them we have an alternative process based on your filed accounts

FAQs
... Are there any hidden charges?
No, none at all. The only costs 1plus have are this website and our email address, so we have no significant costs to pass on

... Does my company have to commit for multiple years?
No. Your donations are verified for a specific year, and then you can use the 1plus hallmark logo which has that year embedded within it. Change your mind the following year, and you simply don't ask to have your donations verified

...Will you try to influence our choice of charities to support?
No, it's completely up to you. They do though have to be officially registered charities (or else they won't be recognised in your company accounts as donations)

... Is there a time of year when we have to apply?
You should apply when the accounts for your most recent financial year have been prepared. Your accountant will then be able to verify that your donations were equal to or more than 1% of your net profits for that financial year

... My company is not UK based, can we still be a 1plus member?
Yes - email or phone me to get more details (it's still simple, and we would love to broaden our international membership)
